“Stepping into the Juana Crespo Team clinic is a step towards joy and life”
Planning for fertility
Today we’re sharing the true story of Ángeles, a patient whose dream of becoming a single mother by choice came true thanks to careful planning and assisted reproduction.
At a time in her life when she had a heavy workload, Ángeles realised she did not have the time or peace of mind needed to cope with a pregnancy calmly. Rather than giving up on her desire to have a child, she made a key decision to safeguard her reproductive future: fertility preservation.
Through egg vitrification, Ángeles was able to postpone motherhood and wait for the right moment. When her working life stabilised and her routine began to run more smoothly, she knew the time was right to start treatment, without pressure or rushing.
Starting a process of in vitro fertilisation (IVF) or ovarian preservation often raises doubts and uncertainty. However, Ángeles looks back on each stage with a deep sense of confidence and security. From the very first consultation, she felt the support of a specialist medical team who provided her with personalised care.
Stepping into the Juana Crespo Team clinic is a step towards joy and life
The continuous medical monitoring, face-to-face consultations and smooth communication with the whole team ensured that every stage of the fertility treatment was underpinned by a sense of closeness, clinical safety and 100% personalised care.
Accompanied by her best friend, Ángeles travelled to Valencia to experience one of the most decisive days of her journey. At the clinic, Dr Rodríguez was in charge of guiding her through the embryo transfer, a procedure that Ángeles describes as a deeply intimate, emotional and hopeful moment.
Through the screen in the room, she watched with emotion as the team of embryologists prepared the embryo that would change her life forever.
The two-week wait: emotion, uncertainty and hope
As is often the case in many success stories in assisted reproduction, the two-week wait — the period between the transfer and the pregnancy test — was one of the most emotionally challenging times.
During those days, Ángeles went on a trip with her friends. She kept a pregnancy test in her suitcase and decided to take it early. The initial result was negative.
Although she felt disappointed straight away, she remained calm: she knew it was too early and that it could be a false negative due to taking the test too soon.
Following her doctor’s advice, she waited until the scheduled date. On returning home, she took the test again and, this time, the result she’d been longing for appeared: a clear positive. Definitive confirmation came shortly afterwards with the blood test for the beta-hCG hormone.
A dream of motherhood come true
Today, little Valentina is a wonderful reality. For Ángeles, single motherhood by choice has meant fulfilling her most important life goal. A strategic decision made years earlier to freeze her eggs allowed her to choose the perfect moment to become pregnant.
